FiveMCortex Multicharacter

Meet your characters before you step into the city.

Every character on the account stands in an authored scene, wearing the appearance the player left them in. Choose the location, the poses and the camera, then let players pick who to play.

Theo Blackwood, a sheriff's deputy, selected at dusk, with the character roster along the bottom.

The next story is theirs.

The roster shows every character together in the world. Each one has its own spot, pose and camera framing, and characters without a spot line up at the scene's anchor.

The first creation step asking 'Who are you?', with first and last name fields and an ID card preview filling in beside them.

Give the city a new name.

Creation takes four steps: name, body, origin and confirmation. An ID card fills in as the player answers, and Illenium's editor opens when the new character spawns.

The confirmation step with a completed resident ID card for Lena Hayes and a Create button.

Review. Then begin.

The last step shows the finished card with name, body and origin before the character is created. Names are checked against your blocked list and birthdate range.

A delete confirmation for Mara Castellanos asking the player to type the character's name, with Keep and Delete forever buttons.

A deliberate last step.

Deleting a character means typing their full name first. You can restrict deletion to an ACE or turn it off entirely.

For the people running the server.

Scene authoring in game
/cortex-scene-here captures a new location from where you stand. /cortex-spots edits position, camera and aim for each spot and saves it on the server, with no restart.
Character slots
Inherit Qbox's limits, set your own default, or override slots per licence in the server config.
Staff relog
/cortex-relog saves the character and returns staff to selection, behind an ACE and a cooldown.
Spawn routing
Hand off to qbx_spawn, or send players to their last position, a default spot, a job spawn or your own event.
Cortex Loading handoff
With Cortex Loading running, the selection scene is prepared under the loading screen and the screen fades straight into it.

Make the first choice feel like part of the city.

Server questions

Which frameworks does it support?

Qbox is the primary integration. A QBCore adapter is included but has not been tested on a live server, so try it on staging first. ESX is not supported.

What else do I need?

OneSync, ox_lib, oxmysql, spawnmanager and illenium-appearance. On Qbox you also need qbx_core, ox_inventory and qbx_spawn, plus qbx_properties when starting apartments are enabled.

Does it change Qbox?

Yes. The install turns off Qbox's built-in selector and runs a bundled guard script that patches two qbx_core files so its native character handlers stay closed. Run it again after every Qbox update.

Do I need to import SQL?

No. Characters stay in Qbox's own tables. Only the optional VIP slots feature needs its SQL file.
