Destination-first compression workflow

01 / Destination first

Start with the limit that actually matters.

Choose the place the file needs to go or enter a precise target. CompressThing keeps the destination visible while it prepares the output settings.

From source file to destination target

02 / Batch preparation

See the whole batch before processing begins.

Images and video share one queue with their source size, target, projected result, and current state visible before the first job runs.

Prepared batch queue

03 / Clear results

Keep the result attached to the file that produced it.

Each completed job keeps its output location, final size, and savings together so the result is easy to verify and the workflow is easy to repeat.

Built around local work

Your media stays on the Windows PC.

CompressThing is being rebuilt as a maintained commercial desktop product without turning the core workflow into an upload service.

  1. Local processing

Imported media is intended to be processed on the computer rather than uploaded for conversion.

  2. Repeatable setup

Destination targets and reusable presets keep recurring jobs consistent.

  3. Commercial maintenance

Working Theory will own releases, documentation, licensing, and product support.
