Your purchase

Each product license costs US$9.99 as a one-time payment. There is no subscription. Any applicable tax and the total are shown before you pay. The seller is Manuel Gil, trading as Means Software. Payments use Stripe checkout in your browser. Microsoft does not process this separate license purchase.

You receive a license to use the software, not ownership of its source code or intellectual property. These terms apply when supplied with your purchase. Checkout remains closed while release acceptance is completed.

Up to three PCs

One license lets one person use the purchased product on up to three Windows PCs they own or control. You may use it for personal work or your own commercial work. Do not share, resell, or publish your license key, or provide the software as a service to others. Rights that applicable law or a third-party license grants you remain unchanged.

Activation uses the purchase email and license key. Recover purchase replaces the key and resets its PC activations. Keep access to your purchase email. No separate Means account is required.

Included updates

Your license has no scheduled expiry and covers the purchased major version. Fixes and updates we release within that major version are included without another license fee. A license purchased before version 1.0 also includes version 1.x. Future major versions may be sold separately; upgrading is optional.

We do not promise a release schedule, particular future features, perpetual maintenance, or compatibility with future Windows or device firmware versions. Updates for a Microsoft Store installation are delivered through Microsoft Store. Any separately distributed installer follows its own update channel.

Requirements and offline access

The launch applications require a 64-bit Windows 11 PC. Means Audio supports Sony WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6. Available controls depend on the connected model and its reported capabilities. Sony is not affiliated with and does not endorse Means Audio.

Initial activation and purchase recovery require internet access. CompressThing retains its activated license for offline use. Means Audio periodically renews a signed license: offline use lasts up to 30 days from the last successful renewal, followed by seven days of grace. Reconnect to renew before this period ends. A one-time payment does not remove this connectivity requirement.

A confirmed full refund ends the paid license. Access may be restricted while a payment dispute is unresolved. Your local settings and original files remain yours. Means Audio license renewal depends on the licensing service being available; unlimited offline access is not included.

14-day refunds

Request a full refund within 14 days of purchase through https://frommeans.com/contact. Include the product, purchase email, and Stripe receipt or payment reference. We may ask you to verify access to the purchase email. Do not send full card details, passwords, or your license key.

Approved refunds return to the original payment method. Your bank determines when the credit appears. A full refund revokes the paid license; partial refunds are handled individually and do not automatically revoke it. This policy does not limit any mandatory refund, cancellation, warranty, or other consumer rights.

Support

Use https://frommeans.com/contact for installation, activation, recovery, bug, and refund requests. Include the app version, Windows version, and steps needed to reproduce a problem. Send diagnostics only when useful and after checking their contents.

Support is provided as available. The license does not include a guaranteed response time, phone support, remote administration, custom development, or training.

Your files and third-party components

CompressThing processes media locally. You are responsible for having the rights needed to process and share your inputs. Keep original files and check outputs before replacing them. Exact target-size controls apply to video; images use manual compression settings. Explorer integration is unavailable in the Store build.

Bundled open-source components keep their own license terms. Their notices and any required source materials accompany the distribution or are linked from its release materials. These product terms do not restrict copying, modification, reverse engineering, or redistribution rights granted by those licenses or applicable law.

Limits and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by law, the software is supplied as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Means is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, and its aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid for the affected license. These limits do not apply to fraud, deliberate misconduct, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Mandatory consumer rights take precedence. Later changes to these terms do not retroactively reduce the license rights granted with your purchase. A future major-version purchase may have separate terms, presented before payment.
